Three USB Alumni Association branches elect new committees

The FINANCIAL -- The alumni branches of the Western Cape, Namibia and Mpumalanga elected new committees recently.

The Western Cape Branch of the USB Alumni Association elected a new committee on Tuesday, 13 October.

 

The new committee members are Robert Harm, re-elected as chairperson, Lucia Giesler, Sunette Mulder, Mandy Sauls, Fritz Brand, Rika Swart, George Matu, Francois Le Roux, Mzwabantu Mgebile and Litiya Matakala.

 

"The branch of Namibia elected Maritza Titus as the new chairperson. Her fellow committee members are Deon September, Hilya Shikongo, Dolly Nashandih-Emdjambi, Immanuel Mulunga, Peter Erb and Ino Iyambo," USB reported.

 

Meanwhile Costa Georghiades was re-elected as chairperson of the Mpumalanga committee. His fellow committee members are Rénald Radley and Anton Barkhuizen.

 

The USB has alumni branches across South Africa, in neighbouring countries as well as abroad, each with its own local committee.

 

These committees arrange networking functions as well as maintain contact with the USB on a regular basis.

Ruling Party Firm on 30% Threshold for Mayoral Election

The FINANCIAL -- According to Civil Georgia, the ruling party has already compromised on number of key electoral issues, including on rule of electing Tbilisi mayor and now expects the Alliance for Georgia to reciprocate and agree on 30% threshold for electing the capital city’s mayor, a senior ruling party lawmaker said on November 20.
