Barclays strengthens presence in Milton Keynes with new private banker hire

The FINANCIAL -- Barclays has bolstered the presence of its wealth and investment management offering in the Midlands with the appointment of Stephen Howard as Private Banker.

According to Barclays, based in Milton Keynes, Stephen will report into Ben Gulliford, director of the wealth and management division in the Midlands, and joins the team at a time when Barclays continues to expand across the UK regions.

Prior to joining Barclays, Stephen held senior positions at Coutts and Credit Suisse. In his last role at Coutts, he was responsible for client management and business development within the Milton Keynes region and also has previous experience in opening a new wealth management office in Oxford.

Commenting on the new hire, Ben Gulliford said: “We are very pleased to welcome Stephen to our growing team. His extensive knowledge of the area and range of experience in dealing with high net worth clients will be a significant asset to our team. His appointment not only enhances our presence in Milton Keynes, but also emphasises our commitment to our clients there.”

Stephen Howard said of his appointment: “I am excited to be joining the team in Milton Keynes. The town and surrounding area is a growing business hub, and I am looking forward to bringing our wealth management proposition to clients in the region.”

The Barclays Midlands office continues to grow, with a team of now well over 20 private bankers providing the full range of wealth management and corporate wealth advisory services to clients across the region.
