Vienna Insurance Group: Awards for all Czech Group companies

The FINANCIAL -- All three Group companies of the Vienna Insurance Group in the Czech Republic achieved excellent results in all insurance-related categories of the "Bank of 2009" competition.

"These prestigious awards represent a successful result for our three Czech Group companies. I congratulate our colleagues for their excellent performance", comments Günter Geyer, CEO of Vienna Insurance Group, and adds: "Since entering the market almost 20 years ago, Vienna Insurance Group has done extremely well in this insurance market, and has been setting benchmarks across the entire sector with its products and services."

 

Kooperativa pojišťovna, a.s. Vienna Insurance Group was again chosen as "Insurance Company of the Year", for the second time in as many years. The decisive factor in the eyes of the jury was the company's broad and diversified product portfolio as well as its efficient country-wide sales network. The second largest insurance company in the Czech Republic was also successful in two other categories. It garnered a silver award for the category "Most Dynamic Insurance Company" of the year, and bronze for the category "Life Insurance Company of 2009" for its product
"Perspektiva 6 BN".

 

"Pojišťovna České spořitelny, a.s., Vienna Insurance Group (PČS) was again successful in the category "Life Insurance" with its product "Flexi", taking first place," Vienna Insurance Group reported.

 

Česká podnikatelská pojišťovna, a.s. Vienna Insurance Group (ČPP) was also awarded honours in the category "Most Dynamic Insurance Company", coming in at an excellent third place.

 

Prizes for Kooperativa were accepted by Chief Executive Officer and VIG Managing Board member Martin Diviš, MBA, as part of a gala event held at the Prague Hybernia Theatre: "The awards in the category Insurance Company of 2009 and the successful results in the other categories mean a lot to us, even more so since this is the second year in a row that we have been able to win the main award. For me, this is proof that our strategy of combining easy-to-understand products with high-quality and fast service is the right strategy in the long term."

 

Strong market position

 

The Vienna Insurance Group, with Kooperative pojišt’ovna, a.s. Vienna Insurance Group, Česká podnikatelská pojišt’ovna, a.s. Vienna Insurance Group (ČPP) and Pojišt’ovna České spořitelny, a.s. (PČS), has achieved an outstanding second place in the Czech Republic and Kooperative pojišt’ovna, a.s. Vienna Insurance Group is as a single Group company the market leader in the industrial and business insurance segment. In the life insurance segment, the Vienna Insurance Group has considerably expanded its market share, with the PČS, to more than 25 percent. The Czech Republic is the largest of the Vienna Insurance Group’s CEE markets.
