NYSE Euronext Teachers Workshop Celebrates 25th Anniversary by Ringing The NYSE Closing Bell

The FINANCIAL -- Participants in the 25th annual NYSE Teachers Workshop rang The NYSE Closing Bell today.

As NYSE Euronext reported, this is the second workshop in a series of five, and it includes nearly 20 participants from 36 states. The NYSE Euronext Teachers Workshop is a professional development program for educators who teach economics, financial markets, and personal finance.

"Bringing the financial markets to the classroom through the Teachers Workshop is a vital step towards the NYSE's commitment to increasing financial literacy," said Michelle Greene, Vice President of Corporate Responsibility at NYSE Euronext. "The program is based on the most up-to-date information and insight to assure the advancement of financial capability for the teachers and for their students."

Teachers are enrolled in each of the five programs offered by NYSE Euronext and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of Investor Educations and Advocacy. The first three workshops - for first time participants - take place at the New York Stock Exchange through July 20; the SEC Graduate Program will be held in Washington, D.C. from July 24 to 27; and the NYSE Euronext Graduate Program will be held at the NYSE from August 1 to 3.
