Coming off the huge success from last year’s event, Next Jump is excited to connect leading tech firms with top engineering students to contribute to NYC’s flourishing tech community.  According to NYSE Euronext, the event takes place on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on October 20, 2012 and will give 500 select engineers and engineering students the chance to meet 50 of the top executives from tech companies on the East Coast.

Applications are now being accepted HEREfor tech companies from New York, D.C., Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and every state in between.  Up to 500 potential engineering recruits will be coming from such schools as MIT, Cornell, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, Brown, Georgia Tech and others.  Students and engineers interested in attending can apply now HERE.

One unique aspect of Next Jumps SA500 event is that each company at the SA500 Recruiting Event will also have in attendance at least one member of their executive team.   Last year’s noteworthy attendees included the CEO & Founder of ZocDoc, Cyrus Massoumi, the Founder & CEO of Etsy, Chad Dickerson, and Senior VP of Technology at LivingSocial, Chad Fowler.

“NYSE Euronext is thrilled to partner with Next Jump once again to connect leaders in the East Coast tech sector to future innovators,” said Scott R. Cutler, Executive Vice President, Head of Global Listings, NYSE Euronext.  The NYSE is the perfect home for this matchmaking event. Undoubtedly, many of the attendees will soon realize their dreams as entrepreneurs and, hopefully, one day turn to the public markets for capital to grow, expand and create jobs.”

Added Next Jump CEO and Founder Charlie Kim:  “There are great tech opportunities on the East Coast, but the infrastructure for bringing tomorrow’s talents together with today’s entrepreneurs needs strengthening.  By taking it to the next level with events like SA500, we are bolstering the engineering community as a whole.  Next Jump is thrilled to team up with NYSE Euronext to host the event and to play a leadership role in furthering the area’s tech ecosystem.”

Charlie Kim is a mentor for the NYC Venture Fellows Program, established by NYCEDC, the NYC Venture fellows program is a selective international program to help successful entrepreneurs take their ventures to the next level.

Following the recruiting event, Next Jump is hosting the Second Annual “Balls of Fury” Ping Pong Tournament.  SA500 participants will be invited to join the competition, modeled after the Chase Corporate Challenge.  More details to come.
