NYSE Euronext launches its second Exchange Forum 28th and 29th September 2012 at Palácio da Bolsa

The FINANCIAL -- Next week sees the return of the Exchange Forum in Oporto for the second year.

Organised by NYSE Euronext, the forum will take place at Palácio da Bolsa on 28th and 29th September 2012 and will be opened by the Portuguese Secretary of State for Entrepreneurship, Competitiveness and Innovation, Carlos Oliveira . 

Open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, the forum will focus on capital markets, with debates ranging from European perspectives on the economy to the challenges of market development, to savings versus medium and long term investments as well as the socio-political dynamics in Europe and their implications. As NYSE Euronext reported, visitors will be able to participate in workshops, conferences and debates, led by more than 30 different speakers. Financial advisers and intermediaries will have a showroom with their listed products on display on their individual stalls.Luís Laginha de Sousa, CEO of NYSE Euronext, Lisbon, said: “The Exchange Forum 2012 is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the links between the different Portuguese capital market players and the community they aim to serve. In line with 2011, we are hoping this second Exchange Forum will allow for a serious debate about the role of capital markets, especially in the light of the current economic challenges our country is facing.   An active and vibrant capital market can contribute to the economy’s growth and prospects, providing finance for small companies and savings options for retail investors”.

Also present at this forum will be, João Moreira Rato, President of the Instituto de Gestão do Crédito Público who will talk on “Public Debt instruments”.

Other public figures present include Abel Sequeira Ferreira, Amadeu Ferreira, António Vitorino, Carlos Machado, Carlos Tavares, Jean-Michel Godeffroy, João Margarido, João Neves, José Catarino, José Freire, José João Froes, José Veiga Sarmento, Manuel Caldeira Cabral, Manuel Puerta da Costa, Nuno Severiano Teixeira, Paulo Rangel, Pedro Costa and Raúl Marques. They will be giving talks and answering questions from visitors. 

Banco Best, Banco BIG, Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, BPI, Banco Invest, Caixa Banco de Investimento, Citi, GoBulling (Banco Carregosa), Banco Espírito Santo Group, Millennium BCP, Montepio, Orey Financial e Santander Shareholders (Accionistas) will have their own display areas and will be running different workshops.   Subjects include: active and passive investment portfolio management, negotiation platform: a world of alternatives, listing your company on the stock exchange: the experience of those listed, new debt instruments, risk investment management and hedging instruments.
