The FINANCIAL -- Tokyo, July 4, 2011 - SANYO Electric Co., Ltd. (SANYO), a world leader in rechargeable battery technology, announces that its “eneloop stick booster” (KBC-D1AS), a handy power source with USB power port, has won the Bronze prize of the IDEA 2011.

The IDEA, the International Design Excellence Awards, has recognized design excellence in products, sustainability, interaction design, packaging, strategy, research and concepts and solidified its position as the preeminent international design competition for 31 years.

Previously, SANYO has received Bronze awards for its “eneloop solar charger” and “eneloop air fresher” products in 2008. This year’s prizewinner, the “eneloop stick booster” has also won a Good Design Award 2010 in Japan as well as an iF Product Design Award 2011 in Germany.

SANYO will continue to develop products that are environmentally conscious not only in function and performance, but in concept and design to gain world recognition.
