Ukraine: yield of early grains is significantly higher compared with last year – N.Azarov

The FINANCIAL -- As of July 3, the yield of early grain crops in Ukraine totaled nearly 2.4 t/ha, as opposed to 1.6 t/ha in 2012, said Nikolai Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine .

Due to the fact that in the current year Ukraine achieved significantly better care for agricultural crops areas, carried out all agricultural activities, the average grain yield increased in all regions, he said.

The Prime Minister also said that in the current year the general grain harvest will exceed the last year index by 10-12 mln tonnes, and total nearly 54 mln tonnes.

Besides, N.Azarov informed that as of the reporting date Ukraine harvested over 6 mln tonnes of early grains and leguminous crops throughout the areas of 2.6 mln ha.
