The FINANCIAL -- As agreed to under the strategic track of the United States-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue, experts from relevant U.S. and Chinese foreign affairs and maritime agencies held the fourth U.S.-China Dialogue on the Law of the Sea and Polar Issues April 8-9, 2013, in Alameda, California.

The FINANCIAL -- The Secretary of State’s Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs Reta Jo Lewis will travel to Beijing and Tianjin, China, to attend the U.S-China Governors Forum April 15-16.

The FINANCIAL -- The 17th session of the U.S.-Vietnam Human Rights Dialogue will be held April 12 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The FINANCIAL -- The United States joined G-8 partners in support of the United Kingdom’s Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, and reaffirmed its commitment to work with the international community to strengthen global coordination and individual countries’ capacity to prevent sexual violence; promote justice and accountability; and provide care for survivors of such violence.

The FINANCIAL -- The Paris forum, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the French Agency for Development (AFD) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), brought world leaders and key actors together to engage in a dynamic and important debate on the need for a shift away from labour- and resource-intensive production.
