The FINANCAIL -- Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company,
has been driving environment awareness and conservation initiatives in
its various locations.
In line with this, Tata Power organised an environmental awareness programme for all its employees at their Kalinganagar power plant.
Several initiatives to drive environment consciousness and awareness that involved all the employees of the plant were organised. Creative competitions, such as poster drawing, slogan writing and quiz competitions, which focused on environment conservation were conducted. According to Tata, the employees were encouraged to use carpooling in order to optimise fuel consumption and simultaneously reduce carbon footprint. A special pledge to save the environment and save the earth was also taken by everyone who had gathered for the event.
Speaking on the initiative, P Thakur, general manager, Odisha projects, Tata Power, said, “We are delighted by the positive response garnered from our employees towards environment conservation. Sustainability is our key strategic pillar and we believe in leading by example. Such initiatives are important to help employees understand that small steps on their part can help create waves of difference to the environment. We appreciate and thank the employees who have participated in making this campaign a huge success.”
The programme culminated with a prize distribution ceremony to recognise the efforts of all those who took part in the various competition organised to spread the awareness on environment conservation.
