| MasterCard and Odakyu Electric Railway Launch ‘Welcome! Shinjuku Terrace City Campaign’ |

The FINANCIAL -- MasterCard Worldwide, in collaboration with Odakyu Electric Railway Co. Ltd. –Japan’s major private railway company – announces the launch of an exclusive promotional campaign for travelers who use their foreign-issued MasterCard cards to make purchases at Shinjuku Terrace City in Tokyo.
The ‘Welcome! Shinjuku Terrace City Campaign’ will run in two phases, with the first phase ending January 16, 2009, and the second commencing January 16, 2009 – just in time for cardholders visiting Tokyo during next Chinese New Year holidays. The second phase of the promotion will run until April 15, 2009.
During each campaign period, the first 2,500 travelers who spend more than 40,000 yen using their MasterCard cards at participating retailers in Shinjuku at the “Shinjuku Terrace City” – Tokyo’s prominent shopping spot – including Odakyu Department Store, Shinjuku Mylord/Mosaic Street, Halc (including Bic Camera), Shinjuku Southern Terrace and Hotel Century Southern Tower will be eligible for one complimentary gift item.
Gift items available to cardholders include a 4,000 yen Odakyu Department Store gift certificate or a complimentary roundtrip Odakyu Line railway pass*, which offers cardholders a trip from Shinjuku to a popular resort area “Hakone”. To redeem the gift items, cardholders are required to show their MasterCard card and the receipt at the tax refund counter at Odakyu Department Store. The roundtrip Odakyu Line railway pass however can only be redeemed at the Odakyu Travel reception desk at Shinjuku station.
