MasterCard will reward winning consumers for the holiday shopping they’re already doing, making the experience of purchasing gifts for friends and family this season even more satisfying.

The promotion, which began on Nov. 1 and runs through Jan. 2, 2009, will give consumers a chance to win two identical prizes – one to keep and the other to give to someone who matters most. MasterCard cardholders simply use their MasterCard cards for qualified purchases during the Promotion Period at U.S. merchants to be entered in the Sweepstakes for a chance to win.

“Despite the notion that consumers are predicted to spend less during the holidays this year, we’re making every purchase – regardless of the amount – more valuable with Overjoy of Giving,” said Amy Fuller, Group Executive, Americas Marketing, MasterCard Worldwide.

“Consumers who feel they have not given enough to those who matter most in their lives, or to their communities, seek opportunities during the holidays to do just that. We wanted to tap into that sentiment of altruism with this promotion.”
