| Former U.S. Commerce Under Secretary to Lead SAP Public Policy Office |

The FINANCIAL -- SAP America Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), on February 25 announced the appointment of Robert C. Cresanti as vice president of Government Relations. In his new role, Cresanti will lead SAP's federal and state government relations activities, support and advise SAP's public sector group, and manage SAP's non-profit relationships in DC.
With more than 15 years of experience in banking, securities, tax and privacy law, Cresanti was most recently with the Gray Company, a practice specializing in government relations, strategic consulting and lobbying in the technology and financial services industries. He also served as managing director of Ocean Tomo, an intellectual property merchant bank, and served as CEO of the company's Intellectual Property Exchange.
In 2006, Cresanti was named Under Secretary of Commerce for Technology, where he headed the Technology Administration (TA) and served as chief privacy officer for the Department of Commerce. Cresanti co-chaired the Committee on Technology and the Interagency Working Group on Manufacturing R&D within the President's National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). He also represented the Commerce Department on the President's ID Theft Task Force.
Before joining the Administration, Cresanti held senior executive and legal positions with ITAA (now Tech America) and the Business Software Alliance. Earlier in his career, he served on the Senate Y2K Committee, and the Subcommittee on Financial Services and Technology for the Senate Banking Committee.
