A former business owner and executive director of the Chamber’s small and mid-market business councils, Giovanni will provide strategic leadership on policy and advocacy efforts related to the small businesses that make up 96% of the Chamber’s membership.

“Whether before Congress, the administration, or in the courts, the Chamber has aggressively pursued the interests of small business,” said Bruce Josten, the Chamber’s executive vice president of Government Affairs. “Now more than ever, the economy depends on the success of small business endeavors.  We are redoubling our efforts to assure that lawmakers enact legislation that will provide an environment for entrepreneurs to start, grow, and expand.

Giovanni will also continue to oversee the Chamber’s growing Council on Small Business and Corporate Leadership Advisory Council.  These two councils provide important platforms for the Chamber’s small and mid-market business members to become fully engaged in public policy and advocacy.

“Giovanni’s leadership will be instrumental in determining and advancing our small business agenda,” Josten said.

Prior to joining the Chamber in 1998, Coratolo started, funded, and sold a variety of small business enterprises including restaurants, consulting services, and a land development company.  He graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering and has attended the University of Baltimore Law School and George Washington University School of Business.
