Deutsche Bank appoints Guy Ashton Head of Equity Research, Asia Pacific

The FINANCIAL -- Deutsche Bank on September 23 announced the appointment of Guy Ashton as Head of Equity Research, Asia Pacific. Mr Ashton will take up the role with immediate effect and will be based in Hong Kong.

He reports into David Folkerts-Landau, Global Head of Research and to Boon Chye Loh, Head of Global Markets in Asia. Mr Ashton replaces Tim Andrew, who has left the bank.


In announcing the appointment, David Folkerts-Landau said, "We believe that the Asia Pacific region will remain the world's most dynamic and fastest-growing in the medium-term ahead. And we want to ensure that the region is home to some of our brightest global talent. Guy is ideally suited to lead our further research build-out in Asia, with years of experience heading major research divisions in both Europe and Asia."

 

Boon Chye Loh said, "Guy's appointment is further affirmation of the bank's commitment to delivering market leading research for our clients in Asia Pacific. We continue to invest significant resources to deepen our coverage in the region where the bank is a major force in every market."

 

Mr Ashton is currently Deutsche Bank's Head of Research, EMEA and a member of the Global Equity Trading Executive Committee. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2003, Mr Ashton was with HSBC as Head of Asia Research based in Hong Kong in 1998/99 and later as Head of European Research. He holds a BSC from the London School of Economics and is a Chartered Accountant.

Civil.Ge -- Denis Keefe, the British ambassador to Georgia, expressed protest about use of archive footage of him in, as he put it, “irresponsible” Imedi TV’s fake report and said it was “discourtesy” to him.
