As Ford Motor Company reported, car sales were powered by Ford Fiesta which saw its best month ever with a 16 per cent increase. June also saw strong demand for Oakville- built CUV’s Edge and Flex which had sales increases of 22 per cent and 38 per cent, respectively. Continuing the momentum, F-150 sales were up 8 per cent.

“June was a strong month for our popular crossovers, both Ford and Lincoln,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “People really appreciate the combination of utility, fuel economy and smart technology.”

Positive results from the Lincoln lineup include, MKX with a 16 per cent increase, MKT saw a 12 per cent increase and Navigator was up 26 per cent, which also helped boost overall sales in June.

“Coming off a 23-year sales record last June, Ford of Canada still had a very positive month closing at number one,” said Craig. “When you think about the unprecedented impact of the tsunami this time last year, the industry is showing a solid recovery.”
