One of the key initiatives is driving environment conservation awareness. As part of this, Tata Power’s Haldia team organised a plantation programme in the nearby community of Haldia.

More than 300 saplings were planted by Tata Power volunteers and community members. School children of nearby areas also took active part in planting saplings in the area. The objective of this initiative was to encourage environment conservation and ensure a greener tomorrow.

Speaking about this initiative, Vijayant Ranjan, station manager, Haldia power plant, said, “The main objective of plantation programme is to demonstrate how each one of us can contribute to make our society greener and make our environment healthier. We applaud the efforts of our volunteers in initiating awareness in these communities.”

According to Tata, the plantation programme was well appreciated by all the members of the community, who have pledged to participate in such initiatives organised by the company.
