The FINANCIAL — UKRAINE. About 1 billion square meters need insulating, Ivan Salii, chairman of the supervisory board of the All-Ukrainian Association of Producers of Building Materials, said in the article published in Business weekly.
"We have to insulate about 1 billion square meters of residential estates and other facilities," according to Salii.
He thinks the government should outline special programs to motivate owners of buildings and houses.
"The government should develop and carry out special programs of economic motivation of owners of buildings and houses, as well as managing companies and to insulate old facilities, provide their thermal rehabilitation in line with modern standards," Salii noted.
Roof refurbishment, insulation of facades of buildings, replacement of sanitary and technical equipment are quickly pay-back projects, Salii emphasized.
Implementation of the said project could save at least 25% of energy, according to Salii.
As Ukrainian News reported, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services (the Ministry of Regional Development, Buildings and Housing from December 9) intended to draft a program of insulating residential houses. However it did not specify the terms.
