2013 Summer Season at Czech Airlines: 6 New Destinations, with Flights to 18 Others Added

The FINANCIAL — Czech Airlines will start operating to six new destinations in the upcoming summer season, according to Czech Airlines j.s.c.

The flight schedule will newly include service to Zurich, Florence, Munich, Nice and Perm in Russia.

The sixth new destination is long-haul service to Seoul, which Czech Airlines will operate in cooperation with Korean Air using an Airbus A330-300. In addition to that, the airline will add more flights compared to last year on 18 existing services, for example, Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Milan, Stockholm and Tel Aviv. Czech Airlines aircraft will fly to 42 destinations in 24 countries, and together with its partners, the airline will offer flights to as many as 92 destinations in 48 countries. The summer flight schedule will apply through 26 October 2013, according to Czech Airlines j.s.c.

In June, the airline’s offer will be expanded with own long-haul flights to Seoul, which Czech Airlines will operate in cooperation with Korean Air. The two airlines will offer passengers a total of six return flights from Prague per week – two operated by Czech Airlines, using an Airbus A330-300 (every Saturday and Sunday), and four by Korean Air. The two airlines will share their codes on all flights to Seoul. Thanks to a higher number of flights to South Korea, to the enhancement of the cooperation between the two airlines that has existed for many years, and to the mutual harmonisation of departure and arrival waves at the airlines’ home airports, passengers from Prague and nearby destinations can comfortably carry on from Seoul to a number of destinations in East Asia and the Pacific without a long wait.

Czech Airlines will expand its summer flight schedule by adding flights to seven destinations in Japan: Fukuoka, Nagoya, Niigata, Okayama, Osaka, Sapporo and Tokyo, as well as to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Qingdao in China, to the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, and Denpasar in Bali, to the Malaysian metropolis of Kuala Lumpur and the popular tourist destination of Kota Kinabalu in Borneo, to Da Nang in Vietnam, and to the Pacific islands of Guam and Palau, and many other places. Overall, 20 new flights to East Asia have been added to the Czech Airlines flight schedule.

This summer season, Czech Airlines will offer the greatest number of flights between two countries, between Prague and Germany. In addition to Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Stuttgart, Czech Airlines will also add flights to Munich. The new service will operate from 1 June, and passengers will have a choice of up to three return flights daily.

Czech Airlines will add one additional daily frequency to the existing two on flights to Berlin, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. Compared to last year, the airline will also operate a greater number of flights per week to Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Overall, Czech Airlines will operate up to 99 return flights per week to its six German destinations, which amounts to 42 flights more than last year.

In line with its strategy of developing a backbone network that connects the east and the west of Europe, Czech Airlines is gradually expanding the number of points and flights to the Russian Federation and surrounding countries in the region. Perm will be the eighth destination in Russia to which the airline will start operating direct flights. For the time being, the service will be operated twice weekly, departing from Prague every Thursday and Sunday night.

In the 2013 summer season, Czech Airlines will operate flights to 15 destinations in the Russian Federation and in countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, including Almaty, Tashkent and other destinations of interest or importance to business. That means that the total offer includes up to 96 return flights per week to countries in the area, averaging 14 per day. Of these, the airline will operate up to 5 return flights per day to Moscow, a total of 38 per week, eight per week to St. Petersburg, seven each to Yerevan and Kiev, six to Samara, five to Yekaterinburg, four to Minsk and Rostov-on-Don, three each to Almaty, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Odessa and Tbilisi, and two per week to Perm and Tashkent. Compared to last year, the airline will increase the number of flights to Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don and Ufa. Czech Airlines will newly deploy the comfortable wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft on selected flights to Almaty, Yekaterinburg and Moscow.
