On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of World War II, the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR-IGFM – International Society for Human Rights -Internationale Gesellschaft für MenschenrechteFounded in 1972, the headquarters are located in Frankfurt am Main), with the support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shot the film ,,Tell me about war”.

The ISHR-IGFM National Sections of Germany, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan participated in the project. «The project is unique because it was attended by veterans, who are almost 100 years old», – Said the President of the Georgian National Section of the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR-IGFM), Professor of Religious Studies Mr Avtandil Davitaia. The veterans in the film, despite enduring a lot of hardship and pain, saw a lot of victims, urging young people to never fight, because war is a disaster and therefore, all problems must be resolved through negotiation and agreement. A. Davitaia informed us that the film was shot and edited in the second half of 2020 in 7 countries of the former USSR, despite the coronavirus pandemic and significant conflicts between the participating countries (there was a war going on between Armenia and Azerbaijan during this period).

Artem Kopaliani, a veteran of the Second World War from Sokhumi, in his 97 year-old took part in the film ,,Tell me about the war” as a presentator of Georgia. ,,I never thought I would witness another war(1992-93) after World War II”, With heartache says Mr. Artem in the film. ,,Abkhazeti (Region of Georgia) was occupied by Russia, I lost my house, I became an internal reffugee person, I am sure we will return to Abkhazeti without war and unite Georgia peacefully”, – Hopefully said Artem Kopaliani, who lives in Tbilisi but is reffugee from Sokhumi. Mr. Artem’s ability to work is astonish! However his age, he planted a garden in Tbilisi (district Ponichala) with his own hands and wants to leave it to the next generation. Mr Artem Kopaliani addresses the youth – Believe in God, never fight, love and help each other, then you will be able to create a new and better world. Work on the film was completed in November 2020, dubbed in 3 languages (English, German, Russian), It has been shown in the last two months in 8 countries (Germany, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) and public hearings have been held. A. Davitaia informed us that tens of thousands of people have watched the film in different countries, has lots of comments and shares. «The film received a great responses from young people, including the ,,League of Historians” of Sokhumi State University (in Tbilisi), which organized a special conference on this topic. Nevertheless some problems, young people from occupied Abkhazeti remotely participated in the online discussion of the film which was planed and organised from Tbilisi», – Noted Mr A. Davitaia. https://www.facebook.com/National-Section-of-Georgia-of-the-international-Society-for-Human-Rights-100890804916132

The film aims to remind the world that without knowledge and analysis of the past it is impossible to build a successful future!
