The FINANCIAL — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting with representatives of the non-governmental organisations where issues relating to sectoral co-operation on the Association Agenda for 2017-2020 were discussed.
The meeting was attended by representatives from up to 40 non-organizational organizations, as well as from the Office of the State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Issues, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, according to MFA of Georgia.
The sides discussed the issues relating to sectoral co-operation on the Association Agenda for 2017-2020. Representatives of the non-governmental organizations were presented with principles, priorities and directions under the draft document dealing with sectoral co-operation issues.
The meeting proceeded in an interactive mode. Representatives of the non-governmental sector put forth their own proposals, which, in their opinion, should be reflected in the document. It was emphasised during the meeting that the recommendations provided by the non-governmental organizations will be given due consideration in the process of further negotiations with the European Union.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry will continue to support the non-governmental sector’s open and active involvement in the development of the Association Agenda for 2017-2020. Hence, further meetings will be held for discussing the draft document of the Association Agenda and coordinating positions thereon.
