The FINANCIAL — Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Vakhtang Makharoblishvili met with the delegation of the Lithuania-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group led by the Head of the Group Zigimantas Pavilionis.
Discussions focused on the friendly relations between the two countries. The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister thanked the members of the Friendship Group for the Lithuanian Parliament’s increasing number of statements and resolutions in support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration path, according to MFA of Georgia.
Vakhtang Makharoblishvili brought to the attention of the Lithuanian side the main priorities of Georgia’s foreign policy and the progress made in the implementation of the European and Euro-Atlantic agenda. Special attention was paid to expectations with respect to the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled for November.
The Lithuanian Parliamentary delegation will hold meetings with the President of Georgia, Prime Minister, Speaker of the Parliament. The members of the Lithuanian delegation will also take part in the international conference “A World in Flux: The Future of Democracy, Transatlantic Relations, Europe and the Middle East“ held in Tbilisi, on 12 and 13 October, under the auspices of the McCain Institute for International Leadership and the Economic Policy Research Center-ის (EPRC)
