The FINANCIAL — According to caterersearch, boutique hotel group Abode is set to launch a townhouse hotel brand called Baby Abode, with the first property to open in London’s Chelsea next month.
Located in the Grade-II listed Sydney House hotel near the Kings Road, which is owned by Bath Priory and Gidleigh Park owner Andrew Brownsword, the first Baby Abode will be a 21-bedroom high-end bed and breakfast.
Abode managing director Nick Halliday said the infrastructure of Abode Hotels is now well placed to support the launch of a sub-brand.
“These are commercially exciting propositions and give us the opportunity to exploit those chic avenues positioned just off centre,” he said.
The Abode group is a growing collection of hotels founded by Brownsword and two-Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines.
The company currently owns four properties in Exeter, Glasgow, Canterbury and Manchester, with a fifth set to launch in Chester early next year. A sixth hotel in Salisbury is also in the pipeline.
