The FINANCIAL — Accenture has been selected to help Deppon Logistics Co. Ltd. (Deppon) design a new agile sales and operations organization that will benefit from advanced customer insights.
Deppon, one of China’s leading logistics service providers, has begun to expand beyond its traditional strength in the Less-than-Truck-Load (LTL) transportation sector, in which it delivers small items of freight. With the slowdown of China’s economy, Deppon is seeking new and sustainable revenue growth by offering Full-Truck-Load (FTL) transportation, express delivery and warehouse supply chain services. This will enable Deppon to compete more effectively by offering a fully-integrated range of logistics solutions.
Accenture Strategy is supporting Deppon’s customer-centric business transformation program with customer insight analytics to help Deppon differentiate itself as it enters competitive markets. It is also designing a more responsive sales and customer services organization.
Accenture Strategy and Accenture Consulting is supporting Deppon’s market expansion through the development of operational improvements, including IT strategy, to help align Deppon’s infrastructure and processes to its new business activities. The combination of Accenture’s strategy and execution services will help Deppon to provide customers with a greater variety of offerings, greater convenience and faster delivery, according to Accenture.
“Deppon is committed to providing a full-range of logistics services to meet market demand. We are delighted to continue our relationship with Accenture as we seek long-term business growth and expansion,” said Cui Weixing, Chairman of Deppon. “Using Accenture’s strategy and consulting services, we will enhance our customers’ experience with a deeper understanding of their needs and provide them with an expanded range of logistics services that are efficient, convenient and reliable.”
“Like other industries, the logistics services industry is increasingly facing the disruption from new entrants and new business models,” said Woolf Huang, Managing Director, Accenture Greater China Products Industries Lead and Account Lead for Deppon Logistics. “Amid the rapidly changing market environment, traditional logistics service providers must retain their customers through better understanding of their needs. They should compete with clear strategies and innovative business models that match changes in the industry. We are proud of our long-term strategic role in Deppon’s journey to become one of China’s leading comprehensive logistic service providers.”
Accenture has previously helped Deppon with customer segmentation, sales and marketing strategy design and sales system building for its LTL and express delivery businesses. As a result, Deppon has registered strong growth this year, with its revenue from VIP accounts in the first three quarters up 38.1 percent year on year. Additionally, Accenture also helped Deppon design and plan its warehouse supply chain business.
