The FINANCIAL — Accenture (NYSE: ACN) is helping Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) to provide the latest range of in-car, internet-based services. Starting with the new Fiat 500X, the Uconnect LIVE services, co-developed by Accenture, include a range of connected, internet-based services that have been designed to help drivers remain focused on the road.
FCA’s on-board infotainment system offers the latest in music and news services, social network interactions, the ability to monitor driving style to help reduce CO2 emissions, as well as access a range of diagnostic services, according to Accenture.
Selected by FCA in EMEA to co-develop the technology and mobile platform needed to deliver the next generation of Uconnect LIVE services across Europe, Accenture will showcase the new FIAT 500X with Uconnect LIVE features onboard at Mobile World Congress. The capabilities on show will include infotainment services, live navigation, and convenience apps such as car diagnostics.
Accenture supported FCA in EMEA to design, build and run the technology services, both on-board vehicles and for the back-end, as well as the integration with content providers and on-board integration. Accenture helped FCA in EMEA with the design of the multi-channel user experience, enabling a seamless approach across mobile device and website, as well as helping to enable the presentation of easy-to-understand car diagnostics from outside the vehicle.
“FCA and Accenture have collaborated on the design of Uconnect LIVE in EMEA to help drivers put their phones away and focus on driving the connected car,”said Luca Mentuccia, senior managing director, Accenture Automotive. “We co- developed the on-board applications and back-end systems necessary to create FCA’s connected vehicles and provide the integration with content providers.”
