The FINANCIALÂ — Accenture (NYSE: ACN) will provide Scripps Networks Interactive (NYSE: SNI), a developer of lifestyle-oriented content for television and the Internet, with a range of information technology (IT) services under a five-IT outsourcing agreement.
Among the services Accenture will provide are application development and maintenance as well as infrastructure-management services such as data center, security, and network services covering Scripps’ financial, contract document management and other applications.Â
“Having recently spun off from The E. W. Scripps Company, we needed to quickly develop service delivery capabilities and competencies to operate as a stand-alone company,” said Mark Hale, senior vice president of technology operations and chief technology officer for Scripps Networks Interactive. “We decided to outsource a significant portion of these functions to Accenture based on their extensive industry experience and capabilities in IT services.”
Duncan White, a senior executive in Accenture's Communications & High Tech operating group said, “Scripps Networks is anchored by some of America's most popular and recognizable television and Internet brands, including HGTV and Food Network. We’re pleased to play a role in helping Scripps attain its business objectives and to provide technology services targeted to help them manage autonomous, cost-efficient corporate operations.”
