Activating regional vocational education and training councils together

The FINANCIAL — The European Training Foundation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, has released a new publication on “Activating regional vocational education and training councils together: The case of Ukraine”.

The paper provides an example of how to support policy dialogue among national and regional vocational education and training (VET) stakeholders, including social partners, on regulations aimed at activating the professional mandate and mission of regional VET councils.

The publication aims to inspire countries that are looking to decentralise VET policymaking. It builds on the outcomes of several semi-structured interviews with selected regional VET council members in three regions of Ukraine – Kyiv, Lviv and Rivne. The draft paper was presented and discussed at the international conference “Regional governance of VET skill policies and system in Ukraine: What role and responsibilities for regional VET councils?”, which took place in the west Ukrainian city of Lviv last year.
