The FINANCIAL — The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine expects that the Agrarian Fund will manage to withdraw nearly 6 mln tonnes of grains of the new harvest from the market, declared Nikolay Prysiaghniuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, on the June 11.
According to the Minister, the government plans to purchase the maximum possible volumes of grains from Ukrainian agricultural producers.
The Minister also clarified that the government will also use financial funds of issuing of the VAT bonds for realization of the reporting purchases.
According to Alexander Maranets, the general director of the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine, the minimum price for 3-grade wheat of the harvest-2010 is expected to total 1.150 UAH/t. At the same time, the high level of grain carry-over stocks provide the essential influence at the domestic market of Ukraine.
A.Maranets also informed that in the current year the Agrarian Fund plans to store grains at the certified elevators only, because in the previous years of work on the market, the government found the actual shortage of over 300 thsd tonnes of grains, registered by the Fund, in several oblasts, including Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts.
As a reminder, the Agrarian Fund was founded by the governmental decree #543 dd. July 6, 2005. The Fund is the authorized governmental institution, dealing with realization the price policy in the agrarian sector and belongs to the administration field of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
The Fund realizes forward and SPOT purchases of grains, provides loans to agricultural enterprises on pawn of grain reserves, takes part in the scheme of the VAT repayment to grain traders, sells sugar, flour and diesel fuel.
