The FINANCIAL — According to preliminary data for 2018, at the end of the third quarter the number of bovine animals down by 4.4 percent compared to the third quarter of 2017 and amounted to 923.0 thousand heads.
The number of dairy cows and buffaloes decreased by 6.9 percent from the same period of the previous year and equaled 454.1 thousand heads.
The total number of sheep and goats increased by 4.0 percent year-on-year reaching 980.9 thousand heads.
The number of pigs increased by 3.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 237.6 thousand heads.
The number of poultry decreased by 4.1 percent from the same period of the previous year reaching 9.6 million heads, according to geostat.

According to preliminary data, in Q3 2018 milk production increased by 10.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year reaching 162.1 million litres.
Meat production increased by 2.1 percent from the same period of the previous year and stood at 14.5 thousand tons.
In Q3 2018 egg production increased by 3.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 148.0 million pieces.
