The FINANCIAL — Air Arabia announced on February 27 the expansion of service to the Qatar capital Doha from the carrier's primary hub in Sharjah, according to Gulf News.
Air Arabia now offers twice-daily flights to the Qatari city, making it easier and more convenient for passengers to visit this vibrant City.
Air Arabia currently offers 10 flights a week to Doha. Beginning on Saturday, the carrier offers direct flights 14 times per week, departing Sharjah International Airport daily at 8.30am and 6.30pm. Return flights depart Doha International Airport daily at 9.20am and 7.20pm.
"We are extremely pleased to announce the expansion of service between Sharjah and the Qatari capital Doha, which will further enhance the air travel options for the residents of both Gulf states," said A.K. Nizar, the airline's head of commercial department.
"In 2010, Air Arabia carried over 153,000 passengers. This number reflects the ever-growing appeal for Air Arabia flights between the two cities and we are looking forward to offering more customers our value for money travel," he said.
Air Arabia started operations to Doha on January 8, 2009. Since then the airline has seen increasing demand for the appealing value for money product it offers. A large number of students and families fly regularly between Sharjah and Doha.
