The FINANCIAL — Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, and NIKI, the subsidiary Austrian airline of the airberlin group, are now offering passengers new travel options following the agreement to codeshare on flights between Vienna and Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi and MahĂ©, and on services between the two biggest islands in Seychelles, MahĂ© and Praslin.
Travellers from Austria can now book flights to the Seychelles on services operated by NIKI and Air Seychelles via Abu Dhabi. Passengers can also connect via Mahé to Praslin, the home of the famous Vallée de Mai palm forest, under a NIKI flight number, according to Air Seychelles.
In return, Air Seychelles’ passengers can now book on NIKI’s daily connection between Abu Dhabi and Vienna, offering guests a daily service between Mahé and the Austrian capital.
Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles said: “We are pleased to sign this codeshare agreement with NIKI, adding Vienna, a city renowned for its culture and history, to our broader network and enhancing connectivity and choice for guests visiting Seychelles from Europe. This is a further demonstration of how forming codeshare partnerships allow Air Seychelles to grow its network reach, drive more tourism growth in Seychelles and provide more travel benefits for our guests.”
Thomas Suritsch, Managing Director NIKI, added: “We are very happy to announce that our guests can now choose from even more flights to the Seychelles through NIKI and experience a seamless travel experience with our new codeshare partner Air Seychelles – in addition to our existing codeshare flights with Etihad Airways. In return, we look forward to welcoming travellers from the Seychelles on board our planes on the route between Abu Dhabi and Vienna.”
