The FINANCIAL — Air Seychelles’ first non-stop service between Seychelles and Paris landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport early this morning after an overnight flight.
Flight HM 16 touched down at 6:05 am local time and was greeted by a traditional water-cannon salute on arrival.
Manoj Papa, Air Seychelles, Bernadette Willemin, Director for Europe at the Seychelles Tourism Board, HE Lionel Majesté-Larrouy, Ambassador of France to Seychelles, and Emmanuel Perrot, Head of Commercial Development at Charles de Gaulle Airport ABCD Terminals, participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the arrival gate to celebrate the commencement of the new service.
The three-per-week service, which departs Seychelles on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday to arrive in Paris the next morning, replaces a previous twice-weekly service via Abu Dhabi, according to Etihad Airways.
The flight is operated on a modern Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 18 Business Class and 236 Economy Class seats.
Guests onboard the inaugural flight were presented with certificates, a key-ring and a personalised photograph to commemorate the historic occasion.
