The FINANCIAL — Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has established convenient one-stop air connections between Seychelles and Turkey following the expansion of its codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways.
As part of the deal, Air Seychelles will offer multiple weekly flight options to Istanbul, a city of more than 14 million people, by placing its “HM” code on Etihad Airways’ daily service between Abu Dhabi and Istanbul Atatürk Airport, and its four-per-week service between Abu Dhabi and Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
Leisure travellers will be able to take advantage of seamless two-way connections to Seychelles and Turkey over Abu Dhabi, which is connected to the tropical archipelago with double-daily flights operated by Air Seychelles and Etihad Airways, according to Air Seychelles.
Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, said: “A growing number of holidaymakers from Turkey are choosing to spend their holidays in Seychelles, and we are now better placed to capture this travel demand through our codeshare flights with Etihad Airways.
“Having these new air links will give travellers more choice and flexibility, while enabling Air Seychelles to build its presence in Turkey, one of the biggest travel markets in Europe, resulting in more people discovering the Seychelles archipelago.”
James Hogan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Etihad Aviation Group, said: “We are pleased to strengthen our codeshare partnership with Air Seychelles to cover flights to Istanbul, the economic and cultural centre of Turkey.
“Through this development, Air Seychelles will be able to tap into our combined 11 weekly return services to Atatürk and Sabiha Gökçen airports, thereby widening its network reach to an important new market.
“This is a clear demonstration of our codeshare strategy in action, which increases choice for air passengers, enhances air access and forms an important source of revenue.”
