The FINANCIA — Aldagi BCI, leading insurance company in Georgian, has invested USD 500 thousand in a new clinic opened on October 20.
On the same day, Nikoloz Gamkrelidze, General Director of Aldagi BCI announced that Aldagi BCI had made investments in the pharmaceutical business and acquired a 19.5% share in GPC.
According to the Financial Supervision Agency of Georgia, Aldagi BCI is the leader in the local insurance market with 23% shares. Aldagi BCI claims to be distinguished for the variety of its innovative products.
The new clinic is staffed with high qualified personnel and equipped with the latest technologies and laboratory.
“Aldagi BCI always cares about the improvement of service quality and offers various services to the customers.
35 high qualified medical specialists are employed in the new clinic, who will provide service to around 6,000 patients a month,” Nikoloz Gamkrelidze, General Director of Aldagi BCI declared to The FINANCIAL.
Georgian Minister of Healthcare and Social Affairs, managers of Aldagi BCI, GPC and Bank of Georgia and about 100 guests attended the opening ceremony of the new clinic.
“Aldagi BCI is notable for its highly qualified doctors and high quality services. This is a model for others to follow. 35 people have been employed there. People insured by Aldagi have more comfort. People coming in to the clinics can receive medical treatment there as well as buying medicine, as there is a GPC drugstore within the building,” Aleksandre Kvitashvili, Minister of Healthcare and Social Affairs, told The FINANCIAL.
According to Gamkrelidze, Aldagi BCI made investments in the pharmaceutical business and acquired a 19.5% share in GPC. This deal will help to develop GPC drugstores and that the insured people of Aldagi BCI will be able to buy medicaments in the branches of the ‘My Family Clinic’ in case of need, where GPC drugstores will be located.
Today over 150 people are employed totally in Aldagi’s clinics.
For the time being 4 clinics of Aldagi BCI are working, among them 3 are in Tbilisi and 1 in Batumi. In the near future Aldagi BCI plans to open a hospital on Nutsubidze Street, the square of which Aldagi BCI has already acquired.
“This new clinic will offer the customer more and improved services. They can now provide surgical services too. An important deal has been achieved between us and GPC. Investment made by them will again help the development of GPC,” noted Gamkrelidze.
Due to marketing and PR activities, turnover of the company increases each year. Currently GPC is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Georgia. According to the official statistical data, it takes third place on the market of the country.
“The company has a wide drugstore network in Georgia which includes 45 drugstores. Until the end of 2008 GPC plans to open three more drugstores and develop distribution channels. We will offer oriented production and service to our customers. The first stage of cooperation was made with Aldagi today. Customers who now come to this clinic can use the full package of our service,” said David Gordadze, Head of the GPC Operations Department.
The number of individual customers of Aldagi BCI is 250,000 and over 1,400 corporative customers. Aldagi has 203 sales objects in the whole of Georgia. Aldagi BCI cooperates with the biggest international brokerage and reinsurance organizations.
Since its foundation one of the strategic directions of GPC has been the introduction of high quality medicines of western manufacturers and the latest technologies of service of the pharmaceutical branch in the Georgian market.
Currently GPC successfully cooperates with more than thirty leading pharmaceutical companies, including the following: Pfizer, MSD, Aventis Pasteur, Solvay, Beaufour-Ipsen, Ratiopharm, Pliva.
The drugstore network of GPC includes 37 drugstores in Tbilisi. The company has 7 branch offices in different regions of Georgia. Along with its own drugstores GPC cooperates with more than 330 different pharmacies.
GPC’s partners are as follows: retail drugstores, clinics and wholesalers throughout the territory of Georgia. The number of consumers of GPC increases each year. GPC supplies about 20 clinics and 150 drugstores with medicine in Tbilisi. The number of partner drugstores increased by 25% in comparison with previous years.
