HONG KONG, China (January 6, 2015) – The all-new Nissan X-Trail has scored another accolade with the Car of the Year (COTY) award by the China Mainstream Media Automobile Alliance. The award is based on vigorous testing by a team of automotive journalists in China, according to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
“We are very excited and honored to receive the COTY award for the all-new X-Trail,” said Susumu Uchikoshi, managing director of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company. “Since debuting in China in March 2014, X-Trail has enjoyed positive media reviews, strong consumer demand and passionate support from our dealer network. I am confident that this already popular SUV will continue to attract more drivers and create more fans here,” Uchikoshi added.
China Mainstream Media Automobile Alliance consists of 23 of the most influential media in China. Members evaluate all new cars sold in categories such as acceleration, comfort, features, fuel consumption, interior and exterior design, and value for the price. This is the third consecutive year that Nissan has accepted the COTY award. Nissan Sylphy received the award in 2012, and Teana in 2013.
X-Trail is produced in Dongfeng Nissan’s Zhengzhou and Dalian plants, and has turned in consecutive monthly sales over 10,000 units for a total of more than 110,000 units since launching in China, according to Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
