The FINANCIAL — Allergan plc on March 3 launched the LILETTA + LILETTA Patient Commitment Program(SM), an innovative program for eligible patients to obtain a second LILETTA at no out-of-pocket cost for the product.
LILETTA is a hormone-releasing system placed in a woman’s uterus to prevent pregnancy for up to three years and is greater than 99% effective. The LILETTA + LILETTA Patient Commitment Program was designed for eligible patients with commercial insurance who receive LILETTA on or before December 31, 2016. When the time comes, eligible patients wishing to continue with LILETTA may obtain a second LILETTA product at no out-of-pocket cost, up to a maximum savings limit of $700, according to Allergan.
“As a leader in women’s healthcare, Allergan believes in providing women with the information and support they need to make educated decisions about their reproductive health as well as providing women accessible and cost effective healthcare choices,” said Aimee Lenar, Executive Director, Women’s Healthcare. “The launch of the LILETTA + LILETTA Patient Commitment Program is another bold example of our efforts to increase patient access and help knock down barriers to IUD use.”
Allergan launched LILETTA in partnership with Medicines360, a non-profit global pharmaceutical company that provides access to medicines for women regardless of their socioeconomic status, insurance status, or geographic location. Today’s announcement of the LILETTA + LILETTA Patient Commitment Program is the latest example of Allergan’s commitment to increasing access and reducing cost barriers for LILETTA. Since LILETTA became available in April 2015, Allergan has created a variety of patient support programs to meet this commitment, including the category’s first copay assistance program called the LILETTA Patient Savings Program(SM).
