The FINANCIAL — For its continuous efforts to develop young talent and creative campus recruiting activities, Allianz China Life (AZCL) has won the award for the Top 50 Workplace in China for the second consecutive year.
Singpore/Munich, Apr 11, 2011"Allianz China Life already boasts a diverse pool of talents from various backgrounds and we are committed to attracting and developing young talents to improve our competitiveness in the market", said Wilf Blackburn, CEO of AZCL.
China witnessed a rapid growth of insurance industry in recently years, exacerbating the pressure on talent attraction and retention in an industry plagued by a dearth of high calibre talents and a high attrition ratio. To address these issues, AZCL launched Management Trainee Program five years ago to attract and develop top college graduates from the campus.
Aligned with its innovative company culture, AZCL initiated creative campus recruitment activities, such as inviting college students who passed screening interviews to visit the "German-Chinese House" in Expo and creating Green Channel for those applicants who did volunteer work for Expo. It also invited over 300 college candidates, together with journalists, from across the country to the Oriental Art Centre in Shanghai, where four students volunteered on the spot to join a simulated interview session, as part of its company campus presentation.
In addition to attracting fresh graduates to the company, over the years AZCL has gathered experience in developing its management trainees in line with Allianz Group's focus on talent management. Through conducting a Career Development Conference twice a year, the company provides tailor-made development plans for the newly-hired management trainees. With strong support from management and HR, these new Allianz-ers will go through five modules of training programs, on-the-job coaching as well as a personalized rotation plan over the course of three years.
The company seeks to continue building up AZCL as the best workplace for its employees who can grow with the company. "Talent is a core competence in any insurance company. With more than 100 years of history, Allianz is a market leader in many markets in the world, and we wish that top talents here would choose to join and grow with us at a fast speed in China," said Bin Gong, Chief HR Officer of AZCL.
Since its inception in 2007, the Top 50 Workplace Award is hosted by Chinese Business Journal, a leading economic and business newspaper in China. The award is based on the results from judgement panel, employee survey and voting on the Internet.
