The FINANCIAL — As more and more people add an Apple WatchTM to their collection of connected devices, Allstate introduces a new feature for its GoodRide app that helps motorcycle riders log their rides on the new watch.
GoodRide by Allstate gives riders an easy-to-use start/stop feature, so it’s easier than ever to log a ride from the road, all on a rider’s wrist with the Apple Watch, according to Allstate.
“We saw this as a great opportunity to showcase some of the innovation we do on behalf of our customers,” says Allstate’s Senior Director of Consumer Engagement Roger Tye. “We live in a hyper-connected society today and the Apple Watch innovation will make GoodRide even easier for riders to use when they are on the road.”
The overall GoodRide app has been available for smartphones through the Apple iTunes store or GooglePlay since 2011. The full version helps track miles and routes, and users can share it all on social networks. It helps riders plan every trip and store every repair so they get the most out of each ride.
To date, riders using the app have logged more than 50,000 rides accounting for more than 8 million miles on the road.
Starting this week, Allstate embarks on a Ride for Awareness where a seasoned rider will travel through all 50 states on a motorcycle to spread awareness about the vital role motorists play in protecting motorcycle riders. He will be wearing an Apple Watch with the GoodRide app installed.
