The FINANCIAL — On September 30 Ambassador Kelly made his first visit to Vaziani Training Area where he took part in the departure ceremony for Georgia’s 22nd battalion that is set to deploy to Afghanistan in support of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission.
Ambassador Kelly praised the soldiers for their selfless service in the cause of international peace and security, and expressed his condolences to the Georgian Armed Forces for the recent loss of their brother-in-arm, Private Vasili Kuljanishvili, according to Embassy of the United States Georgia.
Ambasasdor Kelly said the world stands in Georgia’s debt for the bravery of its soldiers and their guarding of peace far from Georgia’s borders.
