The FINANCIAL — On July 14 the International Society of Alexander Kartveli and Georgian National Academy of Sciences signed a memorandum that aims to build a new foundation for research and popularization of Alexander Kartveli.
As a guest of honor, Ambassador Norland emphasized the contribution of Alexander Kartveli, famous Georgian innovative aircraft designer, to American history before a large audience of academicians, professors and researchers, according to U.S. Department of State Georgia.
“The Alexander Kartveli story really is one of the most inspiring stories” that says a great deal about the U.S. – Georgia relations, Ambassador Norland told the media.
Alexander Kartveli is most famous for designing important military aircraft including the A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog), the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, the F-84 Thunderjet, and the F-105 Thunderchief.
