The FINANCIAL — Ukraine's Ambassador to Argentina with concurrent accreditation to Chile and Uruguay Oleksandr Taranenko has assumed office, reads a statement made by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Ambassador delivered credentials to Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.
In course of a protocol conversation the Ambassador stressed Ukraine's interest in the strengthening of the political dialogue at the high and top levels.
Apart from this, Taranenko again invited Bachelet to come to Ukraine on an official visit.
The Ambassador also pointed to Ukraine's potential and interest in the intensification of Ukraine-Chile economic, investment and scientific-technical cooperation, especially in such areas as energy, railway, mining and aerospace.
In her turn, Bachelet agreed with the need of promoting the development of international trade, especially in amidst the financial-economic crisis and wished the Ukrainian Ambassador success in the development of Ukraine-Chile bilateral relations.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yuschenko in December 2008 appointed Oleksandr Taranenko as Ambassador to Argentina with concurrent accreditation to Chile and Uruguay.
