The FINANCIAL — American Airlines Group on October 9 reported September 2015 and year-to-date traffic results.
American Airlines Group’s total revenue passenger miles (RPMs) were 18.1 billion, up 7.2 percent versus September 2014. Total capacity was 21.9 billion available seat miles (ASMs), up 3.7 percent versus September 2014. Total passenger load factor was 82.7 percent, up 2.7 percentage points versus September 2014. The Company’s traffic, capacity and load factor were all records for the month of September.
The Company continues to expect its third quarter 2015 consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) to be down approximately six to eight percent year-over-year. In addition, the Company expects its third quarter pretax margin excluding special items to be between 17 and 18 percent, according to American Airlines.
