The FINANCIAL — London: AOL UK announced that John Baylon is joining the company as Head of UK and European Trading. Baylon will focus on driving the relationships with major and independent holding companies and agency trading groups, to further strengthen AOL's position in the market. He joins from Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), where he was most recently Head of Trading. In this role, he will report into Noel Penzer, Managing Director of AOL UK, according to AOL Inc.
Baylon has a track record for investment leadership, having worked in the media and advertising industry for 14 years. He joined Starcom MediaVest Group in 2000 and has held a number of roles within the group spanning all advertising channels including TV, radio, display, mobile, online video and social. He most recently held the role of Head of Trading for SMG managing a team responsible for implementational planning and activation across all media.

AOL recently announced the launch of premium video platform AOL On in the UK and was recently voted number one in online pureplay in the IPA Media Owners Spring Survey, according to AOL Inc.
