The FINANCIAL — As of April 1, 2010, agricultural enterprises of all varieties in Ukraine sowed spring agricultural crops throughout the areas of 1.04 mln ha, a decrease of 2.7% (29 thsd ha) compared to the indices of the beginning of April in 2009, declared the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
Ukrainian agrarians resowed perished winter crops throughout 29.4 thsd ha.
According to the data, as of April 1, 2010, agrarians sowed spring grains and leguminous plants (without maize) throughout 834.6 thsd ha (93% to the same date of the previous year), including 632.1 thsd ha of barley sowings (86.4% to the last year).
Besides, agricultural enterprises sowed sunflower throughout the areas of 3.1 thsd ha (up 34.8% compared to the indices of April 1, 2010).
The level of perished winter grain sowings in agricultural enterprises (except of small ones) of Ukraine totaled 85.7 thsd ha (1.3% of the general sowing areas).
