The FINANCIAL — The 60th anniversary of Aston Business School is being marked with a series of events that include honouring some of the people who have been important in the school’s history.
The first event took place on April 14th with the presentation of an extremely rare Beta Gamma Sigma Business Achievement Award to Sir Adrian Cadbury, as well as the naming of lecture theatres; Adrian Cadbury MBA Lecture Theatre and the Susan Cadbury MBA Lecture Theatre to recognise Sir Adrian’s long and much appreciated association with the business school
The visual highlight of the event was the ‘virtual unveiling’ of a piece of installation art by Eryka Isaak, specially commissioned to mark the school’s 60th anniversary. Rumours are still unconfirmed that the impressive and thought provoking glass sculptural artwork suspended across the ceiling contains a real diamond.
More commemorative events are planned for the summer and organisers are keen to hear from anyone who has been involved with the school over the years, particularly in its early days when it began as The Birmingham Technical School.
