The FINANCIAL — Aston University graduates are among the most employable in the world according to a respected rankings table published this month.
The institution’s graduates were named in the top 80 globally for their employability by the QS Graduate Employability Rankings. In the UK, they were rated 12th most attractive to employers, according to Aston University.
For the quality of its Partnerships with Employers, Aston was ranked 27th best in the world by the QS and 47th for the nature and extent of Employers Presence at the University.
The QS Employability Rankings take into account numerous factors and indicators, including Aston’s graduate employment rate, alumni job outcomes and the reputation of the businesses employing the University’s graduates to calculate how employable graduates are.
The University also performed exceptionally well in the QS University Top 50 Under 50 Rankings, which rate the world’s best universities under 50 years old. Aston was positioned 42nd.

Aston has a well established reputation for helping its students secure the best roles in the highly competitive graduate jobs market. LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional social network, rated Aston University in the top 10 UK universities for student career progression into marketing and finance professions. The University is also ranked by investment firm Skandia as a top 10 UK higher education institution for producing millionaires.
Students report being highly satisfied with the careers guidance and education provided by Aston. In a recent survey, nearly 90% of them stated they felt that their career prospects had improved as a result of Aston’s support.
The University helped pioneer the placement year, with students taking on a graduate level job while studying to ensure they are prepared for industry and the professions. In the 2014/15 academic year, nearly 75% of Aston third-year students took a placement year.
