The FINANCIAL — An Aston MBA student has been named “Individual of the Year” for her extraordinary contributions to the Polish community in the UK and strengthening Polish-British networks.
Agata Dmoch, received the Award from Ambassador of Poland in the UK, Witold Sobków for her work in the Polish community.
Agata founded the ‘Midlands Polish Community Centre’, a non-profit organisation. She started a Saturday supplementary school for the Polish Community in the Midlands, and last year established the Midlands Polish Business Club. As Aston University said, she is also Chair of the Midlands Polish Business Club and was featured in the BBC2 documentary “Hilary Devey’s – Women at the Top”.
The Aston MBA student was presented with her award in London from the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland – Longin Komołowski.
Agata has also been awarded an “Aston 100” title, given to Aston students for extraordinary achievements.
Agata completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the College of Law in Birmingham and a training contract in a Midlands law firm in 2010 and was later admitted as a Solicitor of Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2011.
Agata, who specialises in commercial/corporate law, has also been nominated for the prestigious Birmingham Law Society Awards in two categories: ‘International Lawyer of the Year’ and ‘Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year’. She has been shortlisted for the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year Award with three others. Results will be announced in March 2013.
