The FINANCIAL — At least 15 people died and 25 were injured on Sunday when a bus plunged into a ditch in the Coochbehar district of West Bengal, India, Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) said, according to Ria Novosti.
The injured were hospitalized; four remain in a critical condition.
Local people later went on the rampage over claims that the injured received improper treatment.
A broken front wheel which caused the driver to lose control was cited as a preliminary cause of the crash.
India's transport system has a notoriously high fatality rate, with around 100,000 people dying in road accidents each year.
