The FINANCIAL — Australian retail sales rose as expected by 0.4% in September from August, supported by strong spending on household goods and in cafes and restaurants, according to Nasdaq.
Retail sales also rose by 0.6% in the third quarter from the second, where economists had forecast a 0.7% rise, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on November 4.
Sales of households good rose by 1% in September from August, while sales at cafes and restaurants climbed by 0.9%. Department-store sales fell by 2%.
