The FINANCIAL — Tbilisi International Airport convened one month internship program for 47 students from different faculties of Aviation University of Georgia.
The General Manager of the Tbilisi Internatinal Airport Operator Company, TAV Georgia Mr.Burak Birhekimoğlu, stated that “While completing a challenging internship with TAV Georgia, students gained valuable hands-on experience in the aviation sector in one month’s internship period”.
TAV Georgia General Manager also stated that on their serving internship, the students were given an opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge which had been gained at the university in practice. He said: “Tbilisi International Airport is being operated by TAV Airports, which is an international brand in the airport operations. For young students from Aviation University of Georgia and organizations like TAV Georgia, this internship carries a lasting impact. Firstly, the internship encourages interns' future involvement in the aviation business and air services by acquainting them with the challenges and rewards of such work. Second, it provides TAV Georgia, with the dedication and energy that interns bring to their work.”
Selected through a special commission, students served one month internship in various departments of Tbilisi’s International Airport and participated in the on-going working process of the airport, thereby acquiring significant knowledge, experience and career development opportunities.
Maia Menteshashvili and Teona Tavadze, the interns, mentioned that the airport is operated by a team of experienced and qualified specialists and having an internship opportunity in an internatinal airport like Tbilisi International Airport is important for both gaining huge experience and and encouraging their future involvement in the aviation business. They said: “We think that such an internship can be the ticket to locking down a job offer in the future”.
In Georgia, TAV Airports Holding has been operating Tbilisi Internatinal Airport since 2005 and Batumi International Airport since 2007.
